Things to Do in Lancaster PA: A Stormers (Barnstormers) Game-Day Guide

October 24, 2026•5 min read

Baseball's off for the winter, but it's never too early to plan your summer nights at the ballpark in Lancaster PA. The team you may still call the Barnstormers has been the Lancaster Stormers since 2024, and the 2027 schedule is already out. Here's your game-day guide to Penn Medicine Park: tickets, fireworks nights, parking, food and the little things that make a night there easy.

First, the name: Barnstormers are now the Lancaster Stormers

If you've been away a while, quick catch-up. The Barnstormers rebranded as the Lancaster Stormers in 2024. The ballpark on North Prince Street, long known as Clipper Magazine Stadium, was renamed Penn Medicine Park in 2025. Same pro team in the Atlantic League. Same spot. And yes, Cylo the mascot is still around.

The team likes to point out that Ballpark Digest voted Penn Medicine Park the #1 ballpark in the country. Spend one summer night there and you'll understand why locals love it.

The 2027 Lancaster Stormers schedule: dates to know

The Stormers and the Atlantic League released the 2027 schedule on Aug. 31, 2026. The highlights:

  • Home opener: Tuesday, April 20, 2027, against the Long Island Ducks.

  • Fourth of July weekend: a three-game home series against the rival York Revolution, July 2-4.

  • Big homestand: one nine-game homestand running from late July into August.

  • Last regular-season home game: Sunday, Sept. 5, 2027.

Most of the season is built on six-game series, the same format the league used in 2026. Game times for 2027 hadn't been posted yet when I wrote this. For reference, 2026 games started at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Fireworks nights and weekly promotions

The 2027 promotional calendar isn't out yet, so I won't guess at it. But here's how the weekly lineup worked in 2026, which gives you a feel for what to watch for:

  • Saturdays: Fireworks after the game.

  • Sundays: Superhero Sunday, pre-game catch on the field, player autographs and kids running the bases after the game.

  • Wednesdays: Wet Nose Wednesday. Yes, you can bring your dog (with a signed waiver, in designated sections).

  • Thursdays: Military Thursday, with free admission for active military and veterans with ID, plus deals for seniors 55+.

  • Fridays: Entertainment and appearances, and kids run the bases.

  • Tuesdays: Silver Stormers, a night for fans 55+.

The team also plays under alternate identities on select nights. In 2026 that included the Red Roses and the Road Apples. Very Lancaster.

Albert's Pick: A Saturday fireworks game in June or July. Get there when the gates open, let the kids hit the play area, grab dinner on the concourse and stay for the show. It's the cheapest great night out in Lancaster, and it never gets old.

Tickets: how to buy them the right way

  • Buy direct. The team says its only authorized online ticket seller is lancasterstormers.com. It warns that tickets from secondary sellers have shown up invalid at the gate.

  • Box office: The BCF Group Box Office at the ballpark is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on game days from 10 a.m. through the fifth inning.

  • Rain: Under the team's Umbrella policy, if a game is rained out or you leave because of rain, you can exchange your ticket for another regular-season game of equal or lesser value, based on availability. No refunds.

Parking and getting to Penn Medicine Park in Lancaster PA

Good news: parking is free. The team lists more than 1,200 free spaces on game days across three main lots, including the stadium lot behind left-center field and the Armstrong and Liberty Place lots connected by a walkway.

  • From Route 30: Take Fruitville Pike or Lititz Pike south. Fruitville Pike turns into Prince Street. Follow the signs.

  • From south of town: Take Queen Street north and turn left on Clay or Liberty Street.

  • Fireworks warning: On fireworks nights, mostly Saturdays, cars parked in the Firework Zone get towed. Don't learn that one the hard way.

  • Accessible parking: Spaces are in the front lot at Prince and Frederick and behind left-center field, first come, first served, with a state-issued placard or plate.

Food and ballpark rules

The concourse has two main concession stands plus specialty stands, with local touches like Kreider Farms ice cream and Cylo's Cantina. A few rules to know before you go:

  • It's cashless. Cards and Apple Pay only, including concessions and the team store.

  • No outside food or drinks. The exception is one sealed bottle of water per person.

  • Gates open an hour before first pitch.

  • Kids' Play Park: Down the third-base line, with inflatables, a carousel and a 24-foot slide for $5.
